Several University of Tampa students were injured in a car crash around 3:22 am this morning on Davis Islands in Hillsborough County.
Michelle Sams, 20, is in critical condition today at Tampa General Hospital after the car in which she was seated in the back seat drove into a concrete garden wall. Michael Fernand, 20, was driving the car with Sams and Jorge Jimenez, also 20, as passengers. Fernand lost control of the vehicle, hit a curb and slammed into the concrete wall. Fernand and Jimenez sustained minor injuries.
