In five years, two former Tradewinds employees embezzled nearly $800,000 from the company. Involved in the embezzlement were the chief financial officer, Sam Baage, and the director of information technology, Harold James.
The investigation initially began in 2011. In the months to follow, Baage and James were terminated from their employment. It was uncovered that Baage and James set up multiple fake corporations and billed the Tradewinds for services they never received. The criminal scheme appears to have started in 2007.
Both, Baage and James have been arrested and charged with money laundering, conspiracy and 14 counts of grand theft.
