How can I become familiar with cases like mine?

Debbie Piscitella of St. Petersburg and her 14 year old daughter were at Tyrone Square Mall on Monday evening when they saw a teenage boy who had posted comments on Facebook that had upset her daughter. Piscitella confronted the teen, wrapped her hands around his throat, and started to choke him. The 14 year old boy called the police. An officer responded and contacted the boy’s mother who indicated she did not want to press charges. She changed her mind when she later saw the red marks on the boy’s neck.
Law enforcement arrested Piscitella and charged her with child abuse. Piscitella claimed she accidentally touched the boy’s neck but mall surveillance and a witness confirm the boy’s version of what occurred. The police report did not reveal what the boy said on Facebook.
