Bubba the Love Sponge Clem & MJ’s Attorney DUI Saga Continues

Posted on April 3, 2013

The Tampa Police Department released the much anticipated DUI video showing the arrest of attorney C. Philip Campbell that occurred on January 23, 2013.  The arrest happened during the middle of the high profile civil lawsuit involving Todd “MJ” Schnitt and Bubba the Love Sponge Clem.

Details of the arrest sparked continued debate of a setup by an employee of Adams & Diaco, the attorneys representing Bubba the Love Sponge Clem, and the Tampa Police Department.  It is alleged that a call was made to Tampa Police Department to watch for a drunken man leaving Malio’s Prime Steakhouse in Tampa.  Shortly thereafter, attorney Campbell’s vehicle was stopped by police.

The video of the Tampa DUI investigation and arrest is the first piece of evidence to shed some light on the actual events as they unfolded on January 23rd.  The prosecution of this case was assigned to Bernie McCabe, the elected Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney to avoid any sign of impropriety since Mark Ober, the elected State Attorney in Hillsborough County, was the former boss to MJ’s wife and was also called to testify at the civil trial.

The special prosecutor assigned this case in Pinellas County has not formally filed charges in this matter and continues to investigate the arrest.
