Q: Why did I have to provide three breath samples?

A: If the two samples provided have a range greater than .02, the officer will ask you to submit to a third breath sample.  The goal of law enforcement is to find two samples in the acceptable range.  This means that two of the three samples must be with .02 of one of the other samples.
