Q: What happens to the drugs after an arrest?

A: After an arrest the police must enter the drugs into evidence.  When drugs are entered into evidence at the police station, they are sent to secure area.  Drugs can be sent from there for further testing at the lab.  Marijuana is typically only sent to determine the weight of the marijuana while drugs such as cocaine, heroine, methamphetamines, and other controlled substances are sent for identification and to determine a total weight.
