Q: How long will I lose my license if I am convicted of a DUI?

A: If convicted, your license is suspended based on the number of prior DUI’s and the years between the DUI convictions.   A breakdown of the suspensions is as follows:

1st DUI – 6 months to 1 year suspension

2^nd DUI in a 5 year period – 5 year suspension

2^nd DUI not in a 5 year period – 6 months to 1 year suspension

3^rd DUI in 10 years of the second DUI conviction – 10 year suspension

3^rd DUI not in a 10 year period of the second DUI conviction – 6 months to 1 year suspension

4^th DUI – permanent lifetime revocation of license

DUI Manslaughter – permanent lifetime revocation of license
