Client was charged with writing a worthless check. The check was post dated as part of a business arrangement. When the deal fell through the “victim” attempted to cash the check in bad faith and reported it to the State Attorney. The “victim” was paid the face value of the check outside of court. The victim asked the State Attorney to drop the charges. Two weeks later the “victim” reported the charges again even though he had been paid in full. Unfortunately, our client had no proof of payment but we were able to prove the “victim” was lying through other means. State Attorney dropped charges.
