Treasure Island Battery Charge Dropped

Client was charged with battery for allegedly striking the victims arm during a verbal altercation. The Treasure Island Police conducted their investigation and issued a notice to appear in court. The victim played up the “injury” and threatened legal action for his injury. The threat had no bite and lacked an actual injury.  There was no evidence to support the claim: no red marks, bruises, cuts or otherwise to suggest the victim was struck as he alleged.  At our request, the Office of the State Attorney reviewed the case and agreed with our position.  The State of Florida swiftly dropped the charges.
